The rise of Filipino Indie Films is reaching a high slope, and it is getting higher and higher. Filipino indie filmmakers are increasing rapidly and indie films are getting recognitions and awards from both national and international award-giving bodies. There is no doubt that indie film is rising from the dead.
Speaking of rising from the dead, all your "katawang lupa" will surely reborn as zombies rise from their rest, not to scare us, but to offer a zombie-comedy movie that will surely laugh our hearts out! This coming August 31, 2011, it is the National Zomba Day as Origin8 Production presents "Zombadings: Patayin Sa Shokot Si Remington."
The story is focused on a guy named Remington, played by Martin Escudero. Bullying gays is Remington's hobby. Because of his nasty treatment to the third genders, a grieving homosexual, played by Roderick Paulate, cursed him that he will turn into a gay when he grows up. And the curse took its effect 15 year after it was casted. He is hunted by a dreadful macho man in his dreams and he noticed some changes in hi appearance and his actions. He became fluent in gay lingo, his fashion style changed, and he felt in love with his male bestfriend, played by Kerbie Zamora. While Remington is suffering from his curse, a notorious killer is on the loose targeting gays. The power to break the curse is in the hands of Remington, his best friend, and his lady love, played by Lauren Young,
Martin Escudero stunned the entire film industry with the impeccable acting skills in the movie. His acting seems that it is trying to tell the whole industry that he can do a gay role even if he is still an unknown actor. The indie movie features Ms. Eugene Domingo, who showed her acting prowess in another indie movie "Ang Babae sa Septic Tank." and is said to be one of the modern gay icons. I think that she will set another epic performance from this movie. We will witness again another gay role acting from Roderick Paulate. Paulate is known for his one-of-a-kind skills in playing a gay role. Among his movies in which he starred as a homosexual are Inday sa Balitaw(1987), Bala at Lipstick(1994) and Grandpa is Dead(2009). Other artists featured are Janice De Belen, and John Regala.
Zombadings: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington will hit the big screens this coming August 31, 2011. This is brought to us by Origin8 Productions. Screenplay by Raymund Lee, Michiko Yamamoto and Jade Castro. This is directed by Jade Castro.
